We take your privacy seriously. The LDS Scripture of the Day is operated by The Lift Social and is committed to complying with all relevant privacy and spam laws, including the GDPR, and to maintain transparency regarding how we acquire and use personal data.

Beginning July 22, 2018, email from the LDS Scripture of the Day is distributed via MailChimp. Read their Privacy Policy and their Cookie Statement. When you join our email list we ask for your first and last name and e-mail address. All email recipients can update their own data by contacting MailChimp or updating their preferences from links in any email they receive from LDS Scripture of the Day. Your personal information is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of persons who have special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential.

Our email list was previously maintained and distributed through Google Groups and prior to that through YahooGroups. All personal data collected by and maintained at those sites is protected by and subject to their privacy policies. Any personal data collected at this site has been collected with specific consent and verified through MailChimp. Personal data is used to distribute email messages from LDS Scripture of the Day and may be used to identify similar (look-alike) audiences for advertising on Facebook and Instagram.

You may visit our site anonymously. Like many websites, we use “cookies” to enhance your experience and gather information about visitors and visits to our website. We use cookies to help us understand your preferences based on previous or current site activity and to help us compile aggregate data about site traffic and site interaction so that we can offer better site experiences in the future. This information does not identify individual users. As you browse LDSsotd.com, cookies may be placed on your computer. When we use retargeting cookies, our display advertising partners can then enable us to present you with retargeting advertising on other sites based on your previous interaction with us. The techniques our partners employ do not collect personal information such as your name, email address, postal address or telephone number. You can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to turn off all cookies. You do this through your browser (such as Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Internet Explorer) settings. Each browser is a little different, so look at your browser Help menu to learn the correct way to modify your cookies.

We may keep track of Internet Protocol (IP) addresses to (among other things): troubleshoot technical concerns, maintain website safety and security, restrict access to our site to certain users, and better understand how our site is utilized. An IP address is a number that is used by computers on the network to identify your computer every time you log on to the Internet.

We may collect information in the form of logs – files that record website activity and gather statistics about web users’ browsing habits. These entries are generated anonymously, and help us gather (among other things) a user’s browser type and operating system, information about a user’s session (such as the URL they came from, the date and time they visited our site, and which pages they’ve viewed on our site and for how long), and other similar navigational or click-stream data. We may also use information captured in log file for our internal marketing and demographic studies, so we can constantly improve and customize the online services we provide you. Log files are used internally only, and are not associated with any particular user.

Personal data collected through an email opt-in form from this website or collected through Google Groups or YahooGroups will never be sold, traded, or otherwise transferred to any outside parties without specific consent from the individuals. The term “outside parties” does not include the LDS Scripture of the Day but does include all other partners and parties affiliated with The Lift Social. It also does not include website hosting partners and other parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential.

We may release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others’ rights, property, or safety. We reserve the right to disclose your personally identifiable information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on our site.

We use analytics tools and other third party technologies, such as Google Analytics, to collect non-personal information in the form of various usage and user metrics when you use our site. These tools and technologies collect and analyze certain types of information, including cookies, IP addresses, device and software identifiers, referring and exit URLs, onsite behavior and usage information, feature use metrics and statistics, usage and purchase history, MAC address, mobile unique device ID, and other similar information. The third party analytics companies who collect information on our site may combine the information collected with other information they have independently collected from other websites and/or other online or mobile products and services relating to your activities across their network of websites as well as online and/or mobile products and services. Many of these companies collect and use information under their own privacy policies.

In an attempt to provide you with increased value, we may include third party links on our site. These linked sites have separate and independent privacy policies. We therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites, but we seek to protect the integrity of our site and welcome any feedback about these linked sites (including if a specific link does not work).

If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes to this privacy statement and other places we deem appropriate so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. We reserve the right to modify this privacy statement at any time. Policy changes will apply only to information collected after the date of the change.

This privacy policy covers all pages and posts at LDSsotd.com and applies only to information collected through our website and not to information collected offline. If you have questions or concerns regarding our policy, you should first contact us.

By using our site, you consent to our privacy policy.
